CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE

is an integrated approach to managing landscapes, aiming to support agriculture activities in adapting to the occuring global climate changes, induced by the human.

• Higher Productivity: CSA supports the production of more and better food to improve nutrition security and boost incomes; this is especially important for those, living in rural areas and mainly ensuring their livelihood through agriculture.
• Sustainability: CSA reduces climate-related risks like drought, pests, diseases; and improves the ability to adapt and grow during longer-term stresses like shortened seasons and erratic weather patterns.
• Lower Emissions: CSA means lower emissions by food production, no deforestation and new ways for carbon absorbtion.
