„Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, Faculty of Engineering, partner in the project entitled "Jointly preparing the conditions in the agricultural and connected sectors in the BSB area for the digital transformation"- BSB Smart Farming (BSB908) organized online, Tuesday, March 23, 2021, on the Zoom platform, the Joint Cross-Border event entitled "Black Sea Basin Smart Farming Workshop (Current Situation)". During the event were presented the results of the first implementation phase of the project regarding the analysis conducted on smart agriculture in the BSB countries, partners in the project.
The project consortium consists of six organizations coordinated by the Pieriki Anaptixiaki S.A., Local Development Agency, Region of Central Macedonia, Greece, in collaboration with Business Agency Association from Bulgaria, Fund "Investment Support Center" from Armenia, “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, Romania, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University (TeSaU) from Georgia and Business Advisory Center from Republic of Moldova. The project implementation is on 20 months and has a total budget of € 641,879.76.
The main objective of the project is to develop and implement a highly replicable and transferable model for preparing the conditions for ensuring the digital transformation in agriculture and connected sectors in the BSB areas. This model will contribute to the development of the agricultural communities’ capacities in the BSB areas, in collaboration with academia, public institutions, industry and entrepreneurs, and to contribute to the creation of cross-border business opportunities and awareness on smart agriculture.
The event brought together over 50 experts from interdisciplinary fields, who will contribute to the creation and development of a sustainable community, that will support the adoption of new and smart technologies in agriculture and related sectors.
